Bil Simser has some new ideas
by Rand Huck @ 9:54 PM EDT
Bil Simser, who is currently in the works of Blueprint, a 3-D model furniture builder for The Sims is now considering a Napster-like database where you can share skins, furniture, and other sim objects. A poll asking whether you would like to get your skins from websites or from this database is on his Blueprint Website here.

Another idea he might be working on is a sim modeling program that will allow you to "shape" your sim's position to take snapshots for whatever reason.

MOTS Vs. Sims Community
by Tim Gowa @ 10:31 PM EDT
The Sims Community was deleted from MOTS 100's List due to attempted theft at several ideas. Below is the brief from MOTS:

"Due to the recent attempts at intellectual theft of MOTS procedures, contests, etc. as well as the unsavory advertising done in our message boards by their webmaster, we were forced to remove "The SIMS Community" from our "MOTS TOP 100" list.

We were not pleased to have to make this decision, however we feel it is not in the best interest of the other hard-working, unique sites that belong to our "MOTS TOP 100" to allow this behavior to continue un-noticed. This site has also placed 4 vote buttons on each page in order to maintain a high position on the MOTS Top 100 list. Once again, we feel this behavior is unfair and unprofessional towards the other sites and have asked that only one button be placed. This request went unanswered. "

The Webmaster of The Sims Community has said (in Club MOTS):
"I didn't copy MOTS design, SI said I could have more than one button on each page."

He makes one good point while pointing out he doesn't want this to turn into the SimCo Rally incident that happend a while back.

I also talked to him via ICQ and he is quoted as saying:
"SI (SilentInsomnia) is in a lot of trouble now. A lot of people hate him now."

blueprint Making Progress
by Kevin Stange @ 11:11 AM EDT
Since moving to a new host, blueprint seems to be coming along well. Bil Simser has quickly managed to put together new screenshots of blueprint. You can take a look at the latest, by clicking here.

Also, if you stop by the home page for blueprint, you'll see that Bil is once again trying to prove to people that he really is a person. I fail to understand why everyone thinks it's all a conspiracy, but if you'd like to confirm for yourself that Bil exists, click here and take a look.

TheSims.com becomes TheSims.ea.com
by Rand Huck @ 7:27 PM EDT
TheSims.com is now moving its domain to TheSims.ea.com. This may mean that you will have to login again. This does not mean you need to reregister, but just give your username and password. Unfortunately, this means that a lot of traffic will flood TheSims' official website, thus making logging in very slow, and might possibly timeout. If that occurs, just try again at a later time.

Bil Simser interviewed at Inside Maxis
by Rand Huck @ 2:56 PM EDT
Bil Simser, programmer for the future application Blueprint, was interviewed at Inside Maxis today. The interview gives a brief description of what Blueprint will be like in the future in contrast to what it would have been if the systen had not crashed, ruining his files. You can read the interview here. Here is one thing that Bil said:

Of course it's not going to be everything the original was but it will provide the Sims community what they need, a way to convert 3D formats into The Sims. And after all, that's what blueprint needs to do.

Blueprint's hopes might not be slim afterall
by Rand Huck @ 11:45 AM EDT
A month ago Bil Simser was shocked to find all his hard labor went down the tubes when a system crash destroyed all of his work on Blueprint last month. After that came some rumors that Bil was not even working on the project after all, and the rumors went so far to say that Bil Simser was really Will Wright.

It seems now Simser is not going to give up. He now has a new blueprint page, which you can find here, hosted by SimFreaks.
