All Platforms - Cheats

The following cheats will work with all known versions of SimCity 2000. To activate these cheats, simply enter the desired code at any time during gameplay.

cass	This code will give you $250, but there is a 15% chance of a disaster each time you use it. The cash is added to your total at the end of the current month.
fund	This code lets you take out a $10,000 bond at a 25% interest rate. Generally, this isn't a very good idea.
joke	This code brings up some type of joke, depending on your platform. In the Windows version, you will see the "SimCity Two Cows in Windows" dialog.

All Platforms - SCURK Cheats

The following cheats will work with all known versions of SCURK. To activate these cheats, simply enter the desired code at any time.

vaudeville	This code shows you the arcology dance!

All Platforms - Tricks

The following tricks will work with all known versions of SimCity 2000. To ensure that these tricks work correctly, make sure that you follow each step exactly as it is written. SimPage.net does not provide support on any tricks listed here.

Free Buildings	Open your city using SCURK's Place & Print tool. From this tool you can change your city in any way you like without paying a single penny. After making the desired changes, simply save your city in SCURK and load it back into SimCity 2000.
Crash the Helicopter	Select the centering tool from the toolbar. Locate the helicopter flying around your city. Click the centering tool directly over the helicopter. The helicopter will call for help, then crash into the ground.
Magic Eraser	You can erase tiles and reclaim used space without losing a tile's population! Select the Landscape Tree tool from the toolbar. Click somewhere on the map and hold down the mouse button. You may place a tree or two when you do this. While holding down the shift key and continuing to hold the mouse button, move the mouse over any tile and its contents will be erased. The tiles that you erase with this tool will retain their original population, but the crime and pollution will be gone, along with the need to give power and water to the tile! You can even erase Arcologies and keep their entire high populations without the high crime and pollution that normally accompanies them. Erasing parts of a power plant, however, will result in a smaller plant which produces less electricity.
Phantom Water Pump	You can easily fool SimCity 2000 into thinking you have a water surplus with only a single water pump in your city! Simply place a powered water pump somewhere in your city, but do not connect it to any buildings, pipes or other pumps. The game will mistakenly calculate that since there is unused water at that pump, there cannot possibly be a shortage and no one will complain. However, it is important to note that without any real water supply in your city, the land values of all unwatered tiles will be significantly reduced.

MS-DOS - Cheats

The following cheats will work with the MS-DOS version of SimCity 2000. To activate these cheats, simply enter the desired code at any time during gameplay.

darn	This code causes a dialog box to appear which say "Hey, same to you, buddy!" Then, your residential zones will begin to turn into churches. The only way to fix this is to destroy the residential zones and rebuild. Generally, this isn't a very good idea.

vers	This code reports the current version of your copy of SimCity 2000.
memy	This code does a quick memory check.
test	This code does a quick memory check.
torg	This code gives you $500,000 and activates all rewards, even if you haven't earned them yet, or have already placed them. This code works only in SimCity 2000 version 1.1. Use the vers code to check your version number.

MS-DOS - Tricks

The following tricks will work with the MS-DOS version of SimCity 2000. To ensure that these tricks work correctly, make sure that you follow each step exactly as it is written. SimPage.net does not provide support on any tricks listed here.

Money Trick	It is possible for MS-DOS users to get a very big paycheck each year. You can import your cities into Windows after you do this, and the trick will still work. However, you can't activate this trick in any other version of SimCity 2000. At the beginning of a new city, type in FUND and click on YES. Type FUND again and click on YES. Open the Window menu and select BUDGET. To the right of Bond Payments, you will see an open book icon. Click on it. Select the button ISSUE BOND and click on YES. Select the REPAY BOND button to repay the first bond. Select the button ISSUE BOND and click on YES. Select the REPAY BOND button to repay the second bond. Select the button ISSUE BOND and click on YES. Don't ever repay this bond. This will give you $1.4 million every year.

Money Trick

It is possible for MS-DOS users to get a very big paycheck each year. You can import your cities into Windows after you do this, and the trick will still work. However, you can't activate this trick in any other version of SimCity 2000.

At the beginning of a new city, type in FUND and click on YES.
Type FUND again and click on YES.
Open the Window menu and select BUDGET.
To the right of Bond Payments, you will see an open book icon. Click on it.
Select the button ISSUE BOND and click on YES.
Select the REPAY BOND button to repay the first bond.
Select the button ISSUE BOND and click on YES.
Select the REPAY BOND button to repay the second bond.
Select the button ISSUE BOND and click on YES.
Don't ever repay this bond. This will give you $1.4 million every year.

Windows 3.1 - Cheats

The following cheats will work with the Windows 3.1 version of SimCity 2000. To activate these cheats, simply enter the desired code at any time during gameplay.

oivaizmir	This code creates a Debug Menu full of cheats and scenario disasters. The "Add all Inventions" menu item does not work, but selecting "Add all Gifts" will also activate the inventions.
gomorrah	This code will cause a nuclear meltdown disaster if you have a nuclear power plant in your city.
buddamus	This code gives you $500,000 and activates all rewards, even if you haven't earned them yet, or have already placed them.
gilmartin	This code starts a new military base, even if you already have one, or haven't met the requirements yet.
noah	This code starts a massive flood in your city.
moses	This code stops a flood in your city.
mrsoleary	This code starts a fire storm in your city.

Windows 95 - Cheats

The following cheats will work with the Windows 95 version of SimCity 2000. To activate these cheats, simply enter the desired code at any time during gameplay.

priscilla	This code creates a Debug Menu full of cheats and scenario disasters. The "Add all Inventions" menu item does not work, but selecting "Add all Gifts" will also activate the inventions.

Windows 95 - Network Edition Cheats

The following cheats will work with the Windows 95 version of SimCity 2000 Network Edition. To activate these cheats, simply enter the desired code at any time, unless otherwise specified.

Klatu Verata Nictu	Open the chat window and send this text to all players. A brief audio clip will be played. This will allow you to change the prices of items within the game, as well as to access all rewards.

Macintosh - Cheats

The following cheats will work with the Macintosh version of SimCity 2000. To activate these cheats, hold the SHIFT key while entering the desired code at any time during gameplay.

ardo	This code gives you $500,000.
pirntopsguzzardo	This code gives you $500,000 and activates all rewards, even if you haven't earned them yet, or have already placed them.
porntipsguzzardo	This code gives you $500,000 and activates all rewards, even if you haven't earned them yet, or have already placed them.
vers	This code reports the current version of your copy of SimCity 2000.

Sony Playstation - 2D Game Cheats

The following cheats will work with the Sony Playstation version of SimCity 2000. These cheats only work in the 2D Game. To use a cheat, press the correct sequence of buttons on your game pad. In some cases, you may need to be at a certain screen when you enter the sequence.

MegaLoot Cheat	This cheat gives you $1,000,000. In the main Budget dialog, enter the following sequence: While holding R1: Choose, Cancel, Triangle, Square While holding L1: Choose, Cancel, Triangle, Square While holding R2: Choose, Cancel, Triangle, Square While holding L2: Choose, Square, Triangle, Cancel
Bond Embezzlement Cheat	This cheat sets the interest rate to 0% on all new bonds. There is a chance that you will be fined up to $100,000 when you use this cheat. In the main Budget dialog, enter the following sequence: While holding Triangle: L1,L2,L1,L2,R2,R1,R2,R1
Free Tools Cheat	This cheat makes most (but not all) tools available for free. With the normal arrow cursor, select and cancel the tree tool. Go to the status bar and do the following (making sure the cursor stays within the status bar area the entire time): UP, DOWN, RIGHT, LEFT, UP, ACCEPT
Maximum Dispatch Cheat	This cheat allows all dispatch tools to yield the maximum number regardless of how many stations are present in the city. With the normal arrow cursor, select and cancel the tree tool. With the normal arrow cursor, select and cancel the dispatch tool. Go to the status bar and do the following (making sure the cursor stays within the status bar area the entire time): LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, CANCEL, ACCEPT

Sony Playstation - 3D Game Cheats

The following cheats will work with the Sony Playstation version of SimCity 2000. These cheats only work in the 3D Game. To use a cheat, press the correct sequence of buttons on your game pad. In some cases, you may need to be at a certain screen when you enter the sequence.

Chopper

This cheat will display a helicopter cockpit. Use this sequence to view the cockpit:

R2-L2-R2-L2-R2-L2

To turn off the cockpit display, use:

R1-L1-R1-L1-R1-L1

Nugget Grab Cheat

Use this sequence to bring up a trail of golden nuggets on the road. Collect these nuggets as you move around the city and increase your funds!

Bring up the Chopper cheat 8 times (do this by turning it on and off, leaving it on the 8th time), then enter the following sequence:

L2-R1-L2-R1-L2-R1-L2-R1

Fly, Be Free!

This cheat allows you to fly around the city without being constrained to the roads as normal. Use this sequence to enter flying mode:

R-L-R-L-R-L2-R2-START-START -OR- R-L-R-L-R-L2-R2-X-X

The controls in this mode are:

R1	Altitude Up	R2	Altitude Down
L1	Propel Forward	L2	Propel Backward
Up	Look Up	Down	Look Down
Left	Turn Left	Right	Turn Right

Press X or START again to return to drive mode.

Rand McNalley

Use this sequence to bring up a translucent city map HUD with a position indicator:

To turn off the HUD display, use:

City Nights

Use this sequence to cycle night and day:

Use this sequence to fade everything to black:

Super Nintendo - Tricks
