Inside Maxis switches to Maxis Outpost
by Rand Huck @ 7:16 PM EST
After two months of inactivity you might think Inside Maxis is dead, but it was gone for the month of October because of some hosting problems, and still in the month of November because of some domain transfer problems. Now, after all this, we have decided to start from scratch and make Maxis Outpost! So, remember to update your bookmarks and favorite folders, and from now on Inside Maxis is Maxis Outpost. Maxis Outpost will be officially open soon.

Aspyr Releases The Sims Livin' Large for Mac

Aspyr Media has announced that their Livin' Large Expansion Pack for the Macintosh platform has gone gold and is now shipping. Aspyr Media had already given thousands of Macintosh-using SimFans the chanced to play the award winning simulation on their Mac systems, and has now completed work on the expansion pack to allow these users the same advantages and features offered in the PC's upgrade. The Sims Advertisements hit Comedy Central
by Kevin Stange @ 3:31 PM EST
EA is now running several bizarre and loony The Sims ads on Comedy Central. I've seen three so far which feature some of the new Livin' Large characters like the clown and grim reaper, as well as screenshots of the game. I'm not aware of any videos of these commercials online, but you can check them out by tuning in to Comedy Central. So while you're watching South Park, or the Daily Show, don't look away during the commercials!

HomeSims.com Gets New Design
by Kevin Stange @ 2:54 PM EST
HomeSims.com, which gets a design change almost as often as Simz Online (but not quite), has done exactly that. Everything from the colors to the layout have been tweaked to make the site more aesthetically pleasing. It looks great, and they've got a large collection of great downloads available. It's worth a look. Click here.

PC Data Stats
by Kevin Stange @ 2:46 PM EST
I know I haven't been keeping up too well with news lately, but there's a good reason for it. I'm busy working on something brand new (though I'm not going to make any official annoucement yet.)

Meanwhile, PC Data keeps churning out new sales data, and it seems that over the past few weeks, The Sims has been unable to quite grasp the top slot. For the week of 10/29 - 11/4, this is how the list rounded out:

1. Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2
2. MP Roller Coaster Tycoon
3. The Sims
4. The Sims Livin Large Expansion Pack
5. MP Roller Coaster Tycoon Loopy Landscapes
6. Unreal Tournament
7. Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator
8. Microsoft Age Of Empires II:Conquerors Exp.
9. Diablo 2
10. Dear Hunter 4

Maxis has come up with a way to clean up those downloaded sim files that have either been corrupted or useless for the game. These include skins, objects, and faces. You can find the download here.

Next week appears to be a special SimDay for everyone. What that is, we don't know!
